Scope of Work: 


This work involves the restoration of that portion of the Muddy River (Babbling Brook) that runs from Ward's Pond to Willow Pond in Olmsted Park.  This brook forms part of the Town line between Brookline and Boston.  The intent of this work is to restore the brook in accordance with Frederick Law Olmsted's original design including detailing and the use of plants that were originally installed.

Some of the specific work to be performed consists of the following:

- Removing sediment from the bottom of the brook.
- Brook channel bed improvements.
- Removing and resetting existing boulders in the brook channel.
- Installing new boulders in the brook channel.
- Planting trees, shrubs, groundcover and lawns.
- Selective clearing, grubbing and tree removal
- Removing and replacing portions of the existing walkway
