The Brookline Recreation Department will conduct a special February Vacation Week Program for children in grades K-6. Children will enjoy participating
in many activities such as arts & crafts, cooking, gym time, field trips and other seasonal activities. The program will meet Tuesday, February 19th through
Friday, February 22nd from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the Eliot Recreation Center (located at 133 Eliot Street). Parents will be responsible for transportation to
and from the program location and for providing each child with two snacks and his/her lunch. Space is limited, so apply early. For more information call

Description

The After School Program is for Brookline Public School students who are in grades K-6. This program offers a safe, supportive alternative between school and home for children. Activities include outdoor play, golf, ice skating, open gym, cooking, arts and crafts, homework club, community service, seasonal activities and field trips. Transportation to the program and snack are included in the fee.

The Brookline Recreation Department has teamed up with Club Invention to offer these two new and exciting programs that are guaranteed to stretch the
imagination of young children. Club Invention is an exciting out-of-school-time program where children learn through fun, hands-on experiences, and
discovery. These programs are for boys and girls in grades 1-4.
SOS: Endangered Earth - Save the Animals with your Inventions - Program #2078
In this 4 day program children will create ways to keep hungry bears out of your food, protect whales from loud noises, clean up an oil spill that threatens
wild life and create an animal friendly zoo exhibit.

Description
|
In this 4 day module children will create games based on the work of scientists by participating in a relay race to keep objects from falling to the ground.
They will use the center of gravity to balance an irregularly shaped object and create a tower using shaving cream and index cards. Students will then
design and create a miniature golf hole to gain hands-on experience with objects in motion and at rest. Finally, acting as detectives, children then create
games using magnetism.
