Brookline has recently been rated in an e-Government study as having the top municipal website of any town in the State!

The full Public Sphere Information Group Study can be found here:

On April 22nd, 2003 I appeared before the Selectmen to be recognized for the Brookline Website.  In my comments I reported on the PSI Study, and outlined 3 key elements to the website success:

1. E-Commerce Team
Sean Cronin, Jon Snodgrass, Harvey Beth, Scott Wilder and Ben Vivante have all worked together to make the 5 payment types (Property Tax, Water/Sewer, Trash, Recreation Programs, and Parking Tickets) available online.

2. 55 Web Contacts representing every Town Department keeping the content fresh:
Robin Coyne, Randy Kincaid, Linda MacDonald, Rachid Belhocine, Grace Cheng, Carol Marques, Judy Haupin, Jan Lavoie, Briony Angus, Erin Chute, Ruthann Dobek, Sue Welpton, Larry Bowden, Tom Condon, David Friend, Chris Hobbick, Marge Amster, Roger Reed,  Greer Hardwicke, Mary Slattery, Debra Mann, Feng Yang, Parvaneh Kossari, Cpt. Michael O'Reilly, Mike Fiore, Pat Maloney, Pat Nprling, Steven Bressler, Ongelita Miles, Feng Yeng, Michelle Flaherty, Karen Churchhill, Michael Wofsey, Chuck Flaherty, Leslea Noble, Kathy McGinnis, Chris Ryan, P.O. Scott Wilder, David Geanakakis, Bobby Lam, Gerry Kelly, Melissa Battite, Matthew Casparius, Karen Molloy, Lynne Radford, Maryrose Noble, Ann Marie Cedrone, Patty Parks, Sean Cronin, Pat Ward, Linda Goldberg, Maureen Carter, Richard Bargfrede, Pat Norling, Chris Ryan, Linda Larson.

3. Community Involvement/Outreach
From TMM’s, Boards and Commissions, Neighborhood Associations, and every day citizens, many people have not only input on the site, but in some cases there own website on the Town servers. Also our listserves have helped spread the word about how useful the website can be as a communication tool.

I'm very happy for all the people that have worked so hard to make the website what it is today, and I look forward to improving our site in many ways over the coming year.
