Brookline ParkCards for Sale at Public Safety Building

Brookline ParkCards are available for purchase in the lobby of the Public Safety Building at 350 Washington Street.  A ParkCard is a reprogrammable card that provides a convenient and cashless way to pay for parking at any one of the electronic meters in Town. The card can be carried in your wallet or stored in your vehicle, eliminating the need to carry change for the meters.

A ParkCard can be purchased for $5 from a transaction station located in the lobby of the Public Safety Building. Simply follow the instructions at the station to obtain your card and to add value to your card. As long as there is value on the card, you can re-use the ParkCard as many times as you like. You can use it alone to pay for parking, or in combination with coins, at any of the over 2400 electronic meters in Town.

When you approach the meter, insert the ParkCard into the meter with the chip side up. The meter will flash the value of the card four times before it begins deducting. On the fifth flash, the meter will begin deducting value from the card in decrements of 25 cents and adding 30 minutes of meter time. When you reach the desired amount, or the maximum time limit allowed at the meter, remove the card. You can even get a refund for the unused time on the meter when you return to your parking space.  Instructions on how the ParkCard program works can be obtained from the town web site or at the card-dispensing machine.

The ParkCard Program has been in effect since April 2003.  Click here for a summary of ParkCard activity during the first year of the program.
