J.A. Lynch Fund for Domestic Violence Education The Domestic Violence Roundtable was founded in 1995 to
provide a focus for domestic violence prevention and control activities in
Brookline. The committee is chaired by Ronny Sydney, former chair of the
Brookline Board of Selectman and former Brookline State Representative. The
group meets monthly for educational meetings at 3:00 p.m. on the first
Thursday of the month in the Community Room at the Public Safety Building,
350 Washington Street. Members are from a variety of community based
organizations such as the police department, the health department, the
Council on Aging, the Brookline Mental Health Center, the Human
Relations/Youth Resources Commission, the Housing Authority, as well as
concerned Brookline residents. The Roundtable provides an opportunity for
continued education through its monthly guest speakers, as well as an
opportunity for networking. The Roundtable sponsors a monthly television show, The
Safety Net, which is produced by Comcast of Brookline/Boston and is
currently recorded at the Comcast studio in Cambridge. This show features
various violence prevention topics and highlights community resources. The
Safety Net airs on Comcast channel 12. Anyone interested in receiving information about the
Domestic Violence Roundtable can contact us to be placed on our mailing
