The Brookline Police Department has been involved in on-going
efforts with the Urban Area Security Initiative’s Metro-Boston
Homeland Security Region, which has provided equipment and training to
nine Metropolitan-Boston communities. The focus of regional group is
prevention, planning, response and recovery from critical incidents.
Some current law enforcement initiatives include:

- Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings initiative
- Riot Control training initiative
- DelValle WMD and Decontamination training
- Interoperability
