Best Municipal Operational GIS in New England!

Brookline has recently won the Best Municipal GIS in New England contest in the category of operational GIS. The contest was organized by the New England 2000 Committee, which was sponsored by the American Congress on Survey and Mapping (ACSM), the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), the Connecticut Association of Land Surveyors, the Massachusetts Association of Land Surveyors and Civil  Engineers, the Maine Society of Land Surveyors Association, the New Hampshire Land Surveyors Association, the Rhode Island Society of Professional Land Surveyors, the New England Section of ACSM, and the New England Section of ASPRS.

The award was presented at the Practical Applications of Geospatial Information Sciences Conference in Providence, Rhode Island on Dec. 4th, 2000.  Ms. Feng Yang, GIS Manager received the award for the Town and gave a presentation on Brookline GIS.  As part of the award, the Town received a copy of ArcView GIS as the prize. The Town of Brookline will also be featured in the up coming issue of "Professional Surveyors" journal.
