Town Tobacco Control By-law
(See Article 8.22, Tobacco Control, for details)

In Brookline, the following are smokefree by Town law:

  •         Restaurants and lounges
  •         Public places and retail establishments
  •         Most worksites

Tobacco retailers must have permits to sell tobacco. They are periodically monitored to determine whether they are selling tobacco to minors.

Under state law, it is illegal to give or sell tobacco to a minor (under 18) unless the minor is one's own child.
