Dear Neighbors: Welcome to South Brookline Neighborhood Organization on line! The South Brookline Neighborhood Association (SBNA) has been actively addressing the following issues for the enhancement of our neighborhood since December 2000: 1. Real Estate and Land Development: monitoring and planning for the possible sale and reuse of the land where Infant Jesus Church is situated. Low-income housing, open space, zoning issues, etc. 2. Traffic: addresses such issues as traffic volume, speeding, public transportation, traffic lights, pedestrian crossings. 3. Children: The Baker School, play grounds, street safety 4. Public Safety: continuing work with town to monitor safety around Bournewood hospital; animal control; neighborhood safety. 5. Neighborhood Maintenance: street lights, over-grown bushes in public areas and over sidewalks, sidewalks, public utilities. Help us ensure that the needs of our community are heard and addressed! Often town officials or the departments responsible don't know that there is a problem until a citizen brings an issue to their attention. Therefore, the more residents speak up, the more town officials will work on solutions that are agreeable to the neighborhood. You can find our mission, by-laws, and all the issues we are working on, along with a list of executive committee members, board of directors, and general contact and membership information on the following pages.
