All participants can come to pick up their t-shirts and goodie bags. I you can't make it, a team member or your team captain can pick up your things for you.

Minutes in Motion runs from April 2nd through June 10th.

 

 

 

 


How do I form/find a team?
Talk to other people in your department or other employees throughout the Town and Schools.   Just make sure that your team members are either active town employees who work 20 hours or more per week or school employees who work at least .5 FTE.
 
What if I want to participate but I can’t find a team?
Contact Kathy McGinnis, Benefits Coordinator.  She will try to place individuals with already existing teams.

How do I sign up?
A Team must designate a Team Captain or two Co-captains who will be responsible for making sure the appropriate forms (team sign up sheet and liability form) are collected from their team members and submitted to Kathy McGinnis, Benefits Coordinator, by March 16th, 2007. 

When and how will we submit our team’s exercise minutes?
Team members will submit their “Weekly Minutes Log” to their Team Captain every Monday.   Team Captains are responsible for logging the exercise minutes for each Team Member into the database by 12 noon on each Tuesday.

When do we submit our team’s exercise minutes if there is a Monday holiday?
If a holiday falls on a Monday, members may submit their “Weekly Minutes Log” to their Team Captain on Tuesday.

How can I view the weekly results online?
Go to www.townofbrooklinemass.com/onthemove/.  Weekly team averages will be available for viewing as well as winners of the weekly prizes.

What counts as exercise?
See the Minutes Guide for the definition of exercise for the purpose of this program and a list of suggestions for exercise.

How do I count exercise minutes?
See the Minutes Guide on how to track the minutes you have exercised.

What is the weekly minimum exercise-minute goal?
See the Minutes Guide for a listing of the weekly exercise goals.

How Do I stay Motivated?
Many people find it difficult to start and/or maintain a new exercise routine.  Please refer to the section of the Minutes Guide that discusses Suggestions for Overcoming Physical Activity Barriers.”

Will Minutes in Motion continue to be offered?
Upon successful completion of the pilot program, Minutes in Motion may be offered twice per year, in the fall and spring.  It may also be expanded to include the broader Brookline community.
